Hey, Bourbon Bill here at Bourbon Bill’s Pirate Bar. Legend has it this was named by a sailor who thought it looked like a dark and stormy sea! If you are a Moscow Mule fan, you’ll love the Dark ‘N Stormy cocktail. It’s refreshing and easy to make, read on how to make the perfect Dark ‘N Stormy cocktail.

The History of the Dark ‘N Stormy

This is a variation of a Moscow Mule, but with an interesting twist; it is made with Goslings Black Seal Bermuda Black Rum and Gosling’s Ginger Beer. Notice I mentioned very specific brand names here. It was actually a matter settled in court in 2015, as a intellectual property (trademark) issue. There may be imitators out there, but here is the REAL recipe!

Here’s how to make a Perfect Dark ‘N Stormy

  • 1 Tall Highball Glass
  • Ice
  • 1 1/2 ounces of Goslings Black Seal Bermuda Black Rum
  • 1 can Goslings Ginger Beer to top up the glass
  • 1 Lime wedge, enough for taste and to garnish
